Under the topic "Business opportunities in Ethiopia along the textile and leather value chain", an information event will take place at the Frankfurt/Main Chamber of Commerce and Industry on 24.01.2020 offering the opportunity to get to know the Ethiopian market and the business potential surrounding the textile sector.
German Technology successfully met Pakistani Textile Industry
Around 250 company representatives from Pakistan and Germany (14 VDMA member companies) took part in the business initiation trip in November 2019. The association had proposed the event in Karachi and Lahore, which was sponsored by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), supported it together with partners and actively promoted it via daily, trade and social media. This was the third VDMA event of its kind in Pakistan after 2003 and 2006.
New Ecodesign Regulation (EU) 2019/1781 of Ecodesign Requirements for Electric Motors and Variable Speed Drives
On 25 October, the new Ecodesign Regulation for electric motors and variable speed drives (EU) 2019/1781 was published in the Official Journal. The Regulation shall apply from 1 July 2021.
Textile Machinery Markets 2020 in school grades
The market outlook for textile machinery in 13 countries/regions in 2020 is rated at an average of 3.9 in school grades. This was the result of an online survey conducted in the run-up to the VDMA Textile Machinery Forum which took place at Erhardt + Leimer at the end of September.
Successful business development in Japan
From 9 to 13 September 2019, ten VDMA members took part in a business trip to Japan proposed and co-designed by the German Textile Machinery Association. The company representatives were able to successfully present their technologies and services to manufacturers of technical textiles, nonwovens and composites and establish contacts with potential new customers in this difficult market.
Successful ITMA 2019
Despite the economic and political challenges around the world, ITMA 2019 in Barcelona was a success. More than 220 exhibitors from Germany including more than 110 VDMA member companies covered nearly all different machinery chapters with a focus on spinning, nonwoven, weaving, knitting, warp knitting, washing, belaching, dyeing, drying and finishing.
